If you are an existing client that sees us regularly, you may be able to have a telemedicine consultation with the veterinarian. Often by Facetime, zoom or by telephone. Sometimes we will ask you for photos by e-mail or text prior to your telemedicine consultation.
In some cases, a physical examination is necessary.
For non-clients or clients that have not been in to see us regularly a physical examination of your pet will be required.
Veterinarians are regulated professionals and must abide by the rules and regulations of the College of Veterinarians and by various government agencies. Failure to follow the regulations can cost a veterinarian their license.
In many cases a diagnosis can not be made over the phone. If the veterinarian or a veterinary team member believes that a physical exam is necessary to make a proper diagnosis and receive the proper treatment then we will need to see your pet. We have your pet’s best interest at heart. Treating a pet for the wrong disease or condition will cost more in the end and could be harmful or even deadly to your pet. We won’t take chances with your pet’s health and we know you wouldn’t want us to!
